Hi Carol, Glad to hear that you're home!!! Now you can get in some real recovery time. Sorry to hear about your bp racing, hope that has all gone away by now. Keep us all updated. Please post on the New Jersey board and never think any ? is too silly. Believe me, I'm only 2 1/2 months post-op and have had many of those!!! Everyone here is totally supportive and full of advice, opinions and other things too. Ha Ha!!!! By the way, I'm the Jen that Timmy and Nannette mention in their responses!!! Hope all stays well with you and your recovery is uneventful.
All my best and lots of gentle hugs, Jen Davis
Hi Carol - WELCOME HOME! and only Good Wishes are being sent to you for much success! You share the same Dr. as both my husband Phil and I do - in our opinion - Dr. Abkin is the BEST - he saved my husband's life TWICE - not only with the inital surgery, but on his EXACTLY one year anniversary of his WLS, while we were vacationing away from home -Phil went to the hospital with pain. Dr. Abkin advised the surgeon in South Carolina, that if he did not operate on Phil immediatley (he ended up having a very rare Peterson's hernia repaired and a gallbladder full of stones removed) that he would hold him "medically liable" for Phil's life. - You can read the whole story on my profile - but let's just say that we both are very greatful and thankful to have Dr. Abkin for our Doctor!
Please follow all the rules from him and the nutritionist, and you will do fine. I will be 9 months out on 10/31 and have lost 97lbs - current weight this morning 179 - I swear - I don't remember the last time I was this weight - it has to be 20 years ago + Size 26/28 3XL to a current 12/14 - XL/LRG ! I am feeling GREAT! Phil is at goal and has lost 141 lbs!
He has fully recovered from his second surgery and is back to his "NEW" self!
All the best,
Sherri
P.S. - HI all you other NJ board posters!
