fees

i was just wondering if there are Dr.'s in the South Jersey/Philly area who do not have 'extra fees' for the wls -- is there any place to go where everything would be covered by insurance 100%??? we just recieved paperwork stating that we have to pay $1,650 each before we can even start with a dietician or the psych evals -- so if anyone has info for us, we would greatly appreciate it

Hi, I am in north jersey. but that sounds like that's dr's routine.. .they don't all work that way at all.. I would suggest if you haven't already to shop around, consult other drs, you may have to leave your immediate area.. but there are those that don't run entire program and will be considerable less costly in the end. I ran into the same issue with a doctor in Mt Holly so I did some research and found the offices of Dr David Wernsing and Dr Matt Kirkland. The only charges that my insurance didn't pay with them was the psych consult and the initial group visit - everything else was covered. I think my total out of pocket was $400.00. A much lower amount than the doctor in Mt.Holly wanted. I was prepared to pay the higher amount but after meeting with Dr Wernsing I found that he was a very competent and compassionate man with a wonderful bedside manner.I highly recommend him and suggest you call his office for more information. Most insurances don't cover the surgery 100%, but some Dr's require a payment ahead of time, and others you don't have to pay until after. Just look around, just make sure that whatever Dr. you choose, you choose because you trust them, not because they won't charge you ahead of time!!! I was lucky, my Doc I trust AND I didn't have to pay what wasn't covered until after the surgery (Dr. Ward). Good luck in your search!

thanks all we have an appt with Dr. Kirkland for 11/17/05 -- i should be getting the packet in the mail tomorrow or friday -- we also have a 'group meeting' planned for 11/1/05 over in philly -- and again thanks to all it would be easier if i were looking for a dr who had viagara than weight loss haha
