POOR NEW JERSEY....................
For those of us who have lived here a long time, for those who have recently moved here and for those who made the choice to make NJ their home, I(having lived here since 1967)welcome you one and all. I live right in the center of the state, and LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the fact that tomorrow after teaching Sunday School Resource room in a windowless office, I will jump (walk slowly cause of the bad knee) into my car and head east to the ocean. It's a 1/2 hour ride from my home or my job and I try tospend as much time as is possible sitting on the boardwalk, feeding the birds and watch the waves. I go at least once a week. It' really washes away troubles, fears, worries, etc.
So for those of you who are lurking, new, or shy, i say.................come out, come out and post on this board. We're a small state but we've got lots of potential posters.
This is my challenge as probably the oldest (64 this past July) RNY patient in NJ to make our board, an exciting one and a fun one too.
AS the new Jewish year 5766 begins Monday I hope each of you will be sealed for goo in the Book of Life.
Shalom,
Betsy

Betsy,
Happy New Year to you and the rest of our Jewish friends!
As for the beach, this is a great time of year to just sit there and listen to the waves. I grew up in Pt. Pleasant and spent most of my teen years on the beach and boardwalk. I live about a block from the Raritan bay now. It's nice, and I do spend time sitting by the water, but I miss being within walking distance of the ocean. My parents still live in the house where I grew up. Whenever I visit, I try to at least take a ride by the beaches where my friends and I made so many happy memories.
Have a great time tomorrow, and enjoy this beautiful weather.
Carol
