Walk from Obesity - Manhattan

Hello NJ Post-ops! Saturday I am participating in the Walk at the Manhattan location with three post-op pals. If interested in participate but the deadline slipped away, good news! Congressman Nadler had a duodenal switch at Mount Sinai in 2002. http://www.house.gov/nadler/ Closing Ceremonies: Khalia Ali Who you may ask is Khalia Ali? The famous last name is a give away. She is Muhammad Ali's daughter. You may have seen her on the Jane Pauley Show talking about her weight loss surgery. A pic of Khalia at this link - http://tinyurl.com/9lekq The Walk organizers are setting up an Afterparty from 12:30 - 2:00 PM Location: O'Neal's 79th Street Boat Basin Cafe - www.boatbasincafe.com Other options for lunch if you would like something a bit earlier and in close walking distance to Riverside Park: Cafe Lalo and Cafe Edgar. Cafe Lalo 201 W 83rd Street New York, NY 10024-4931 Cafe Edgar's 255 W 84th Street New York, NY 10024-4321 Cafe Lalo is where the movie "You've Got Mail" filmed the meeting scene between Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. I re-watched the movie after having brunch there a few weekends ago with the husband. Cafe Lalo is a wonderful little place! Beautiful windows looking out at 83rd Street, colorful artwork and the brunch choice are excellent. If you go at lunch and dinner hours be prepared to wait for a seat. FYI it is very noisy at their busy time. A parking garage is available a couple of stores down from Cafe Lalo. Cafe Edgar's is very close to the park. I stopped in for some coffee after brunching at Cafe Lalo. Edgar's is larger and much quieter. Very interesting decor in trying to keep with the Edgar Allen Poe theme. Not too over the top though.
