Hey guys!! How are you all doing? I have read a few posts about getting back into old habits and how hard it is to stick to being good. Well, I think we all know that or we wouldn't be in the position we were in when we signed on for this! It is HARD!!!! So this is what I have done.. Instead of worrying about the poor children in Ethiopia who don't have as much as me, or thinking that I am wasting money, or any other excuse.. I just THROW IT OUT!! When there is food giving me the evil eye..telling me it's ok to have a little taste... I just say..HELL NO!! I am NOT going to fall into that trap again. In the past, I would eat something just because it was THERE! Now, when my daughter hands me a half sandwhich or a cookie that she has left over, I THROW IT OUT before the smell hypnotizes me into submission! Is this all a game?? I suppose parts of it could be called a game. But listen, we can all do it! Something got our butts INTO surgery. It wasn't a whim or a lark.. we meant business! So, I believe that if we reach down and review the reasons we did this to begin with, that inner strength will again reveal itself!! Someone once made a statement that was instrumental in putting me in the right mind frame for all of this. I was reading posts before I had made my final decision to do this. One girl wrote, "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIS FEELS". You know what?? She was right!! Let's all pray for each other's strength and power!! Stay tough! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!! Best wishes to all!! Great post Rossana! I know that wasting food was a big part of my problem. Felt quilty to leave something on my plate and still do, now I make my husband eat it....lol, mostly in restaurants though. When we go out I still have the tremendous guilt because most of the time my plate looks untouched, so I move the food around and give my husband a few tastes. I definitly don't eat it but wish I wouldn't feel quilty about it. At home, I try to only put on my plate what I know I can eat and don't have any quilt when I stop. I do throw alot of food out now. If it sits in the fridge for more then a day, I ask if anyone is interested in eating it and if not, out it goes. I don't even buy sweets or junk food at all anymore. No one needs it, so everyone is happy about it. Your post was very encouraging and I hope everyone that is struggling right now takes your advice. Take care! Jean

Hi Rossana, What a great post!!!!!! I remember reading that quote and thought the same way you did. She's right!!!! OMG, of course, she's right!!! Thank you for such a no-holds-barred way of thinking. Let's all get on track and make ourselves believe in ourselves again!!! Just like the little engine that could, I think I can, I know I could!!!! All my best and hugs, The Jenster (Jen Davis, Piscataway)
