oct 6 2005 can not come soon enough looking forward to this new chapter in my life-have heard nothing but positive attitudes from everyone-sucessful surgeries to all of you approachng your surgery dates....

I believe I had my surgery date 12 weeks before time. I thought it would take forever, but you know what, it's here and gone and that was over 2 months ago!! Time will fly. Use it wisely~ Spend time thinking about the changes that will come. They are wonderful, though can be a little tricky at times! Mostly, your perspective on things seems to change. I know for me, I was never a wall flower type, but now, I am more than willing to be "seen". I make-up more, I do my hair. It's a wonderful feeling, but it is "different"! So, when people say, things change, they do! And God blews those changes!! Set yourself up with a support group too! look forward to my monthly meeting all month! Good Luck to you A R !! Now is the time to start getting in your new routines - start taking your vitamins if you haven't already. Stop drinking 1/2 hr before, during and 1/2 hr after meals. Sip Sip Sip - 64+ ozs of water per day. Practice make perfect and a healthier "looser" out of you!! All the best, Sherri

Helloo AR .. Welcome to the Board !! The advice from Sheryl C.. here in reply on this page to your post I cant stress enough... VERY important. Sip tha****er.. and dont drin****il at least 30 minutes after eating. I would add three things... Chew chew chew... if you didnt chew well before.. learn to eat slow, and chew *everything** even the pureed food during that stage Eat slow.. and stop the EXACT bite you feel full. If you have more on your plate.. put some glad wrap on it and put the plate in the fridge. Especially early on... that ONE bite will put you over the edge and sometimes make you nausous or queasy. *really*.. no kidding. Check out some protein supplement drinks.. and protein bars NOW.. for ones you like. Look for at least 19 grams protein in a protein bar.. Avant Edge, Avantedge (two different companies).. Bio Chem.. and Atkins..alll have good ones. Same with protein drinks. I prefer Whey powder drinks .. by Advant Edge.. they sell em at walmart .. but there are different companies with those too.. Isopure... Advant Edge... others. The LAST thing is.. stay active here on the board. Ask lots of questions. Do you have an angel yet?? Do ya what one? It SEEMS like a lot of details at first... you can feel overwhelmed.. but it is something that if you relax... take it day by day.. and do your best you will do GREAT : ) I have faith... you will do just fine : ) Hang in there.. godspeed Timmy Ray
