So much to say..so little time!!
Hey all,
I hate the fact that I have so little time to post here! I am so full of thoughts..maybe it's a lucky thing I am short of time! HA!! Anyway, does anyone else find that this surgery is all-consuming? I feel that nothing happens in the course of the day that takes my mind off of my weight and all the changes that are going on. I guess so much of my time used to be taken up with eating, or planning what to eat.. or thinking of what I just ate!! Anyway, I am a post-op. I had laparoscopic bypass surgery on June 13th. I have lost about 55 pounds (last weigh in was about 8 days ago). I am doing really well, no complaints.
I think it's such a head trip though. The good part is that it's a very rewarding journey. It also makes me feel very proud of myself. I think that's something that I am adjusting to as well. I am a musician, both performer and teacher. I have always found my life very rewarding in that aspect, but to actually be proud of a personal accomplishment is very cool. One other perk is that I seem to have inspired my son to take better care of himself. He is 19 and overweight. He has told me not to EVER feel like I talk about this all too much. He says it does him good to hear about it a lot. He has cut back a lot on his recreational eating, if you will. So, that's good! My husband is actually thinking of having the surgery himself! My 5 year old is just a happy little camper seeing mommy get healthier! She is a character!! God bless them all!!
Ok, I'll post again when I get a moment. Thanks for reading! It's actually a post about nothing! Sorry for the lack of direction here.. but I am multi tasking as usual!!
Good luck to all!

Hi Rossana -- one thing that you will find as you continue your WLS journey is that nobody, no matter how supportive they are, will understand exactly what you are going thru like another post op WLS person. It is instant communication and comraderie, even with all the usual individual differences. So never feel that you can's share what you are feeling -- chances are we've been there!
So welcome, congratulations on your initial weight loss, and keep on keeping on!
Hugs,
Nannette

You should be very proud of yourself!
This surgery is a huge undertaking & its true, it does consume your life. In the beginning I thought about food more than when I was overweight. What time to eat, what I should or should not be eating, how slow am I eating, etc?
I'm almost 7 months post-op & it does get easier. I'm also a performer in NJ & to look in the mirror & feel good about yourself physically & mentally is the most reward I've ever gotten.
Keep up the good work.

Can you attend the meeting this Saturday? Its sort of a last minute thingy, but if a few people show up it could be a lot of fun and a chance to get to know some folks off the NJ board.
