Hello, my name is Timmy Ray. I am 8 months post Op, and doing good here in Central New Jersey. See, I grew up on the West Coast, in the State of Oregon. Growing up they made it sound like New Jersey, New York, the whole eastern seaboard was just this huge concrete jungle. Its not : ) What I have seen New Jersey truly is the garden state, very beautiful. Likewise, they always used to say that the PEOPLE were cold, unfriendly, remote. They arent : ) Everyone I have met, especially WLS people, have been warm, friendly and very accepting. GOOD people. So my challenge is this: POST ! Come here.. once a day.. and post something. Here on the NJ OH board. Ask a question, share a little about yourself, tell us about your goals, or just tell us a joke or funny Anedotal experience. (I cant spell very well btw.. :P ) This is a good board, New Jersey is a great state, and I would love to see this board take off and be a excellent source of support and community for everyone here : ))) Just a thought. I KNOW there are a lot of lurkers who just READ these posts.. well something you may or may not know.. when you.. (*yes YOU) post something... others take encouragement and solace from your experiences and views.... So more posts=more diverse, more varied, and more SUPPORTIVE effective board action !! woo woo. So I challenge you to take a minute out of your day to try and come post, post anything.. something... at least once a day if you can. If not.. well then a few times a week? COME ON folks... we have the nicest place here in New Jersey... so lets rally around and fire this place up : ) Whadda say? Hugs to all Timmy Ray

Yes NJ is a wonderful state. The people blow hot and cold though, but I guess that is the truth no matter where you go. I would love to see more people posting to the NJ board. I have been around for quite some time now and usually only see the same people posting. Actually this is the first time I can remember reading one of your posts. Until now you must be a lurker yourself...lol, unless you are just a replier to the NJ boards because sometimes I only read the original posts. I do hope people take your challenge and post more often, the boards are a wonderful thing! Have a great day and see you on the around!

Hi Jean! Yeah... with all the changes in my life... /moving/new college /married woo woo to a NJ girl !/new place to live w/t my beloved/finishing prior college degree/weight loss and wls issues... I been busier than a ring tailed cat in a room of hyperactive rocking chair grannies. (solemn nod). But I am working at encouraging people to post here on the New Jersey board more often Jean- If you get a chance... go post on the *introduce yourself and let us know more about you post*... or one of the recent WLS posts here on the New Jersey board? We would love (those of us who havent been around very long lolol) to get to know you. Tell us a little about yourself... and how you are in your WLS journey? Tell us about your goals, interests, and what makes you tick? My goal is to get people on a regular basis posting her fairly frequently... and enough posts and people checking in so that the process is self sustaining.. supportive, user friendly and fun. There seem to be a lot of post ops on this board that have a lot of wisdom and advice to share .. now to encourage them to be *BOLD* and to come out and share : ))) godspeed, hugs to you Have super day Timmy Ray

Hey Timmy - nice to see you again, and to have met you in person earlier this month at the OCWLS group meeting. I hope you will be joining us again. I also wanted to tell you that I had my first opportunity to go to Oregon this past weekend (went to my nephew's wedding in Portland) and had a blast, although I didn't get to do much sight-seeing. In any case, as for NJ -- I am originally from Brooklyn, NY and moved to Central NJ in 1992 -- love the supurb life, although I still commute to NYC for work. For those of you who are familiar with me, you know I have been around the NJ boards for about two years. I too would love to see the NJ boards take off running. Now for a question -- I am considering going to the OH National Event in Los Angeles first weekend in December. Any NJ'er interested in going and sharing a hotel room with me to cut down on expenses? Let me know. Lap RNY 6/16/03 -- 336/156 LBL 1/24/05 Arms/Breasts 5/4/05 Thighs 6/7/05 "Still a work in progress"

welcome to NJ Timmy! Ok.. im a lurker.. but now im going to post when ever I get the chance... one of the best things about NJ is the beach.. and now that I can move better I have been getting out there.. its easier to lug that sand chair and my bottled water across the sand.. of course the swim is good exercise .. and my reward is laying back in the chair and soaking up that SUN! so come NJites.. let**** the beach!
