All post ops are welcome -- we are not affiliated with any specific Dr or hospital, simply use CMC as a meeting place. I am still waiting approval from insurance co. for my lap band surgery and I am happy to read about the ocean county group that meets up at community. I live in TR. Do I need to join this group to attend? Is there a fee? Would it be possible to attend the meeting before the surgery? Sorry for all the questions. Emily

Hi Emily -- no you don't have to "join." Although we are primarily a post-op group, we do welcome "serious" pre-ops, meaning you have done your research, have decided this is for you, have a Dr, and started the process. If this fits you, by all means, come on down! As for more preliminary pre-ops still doing their early research, there are better forums for them. However, we have members who have had several different types of WLS surgery, mostly rny's, but a few lap banders, a VBG, and a couple of DS'ers too! If you need any more info, drop me a line. Hi Emily ! SURE! Come on down to the meeting... you are very welcome. A note as to why they say **serious pre ops**.... A lot of support groups are like.... held by doctors or medical groups, are like a lecture format.. with a slide show.. and are great sources of information but there is *not* a lot of interaction and sharing..people who are not as serious or focused sometimes often go to those groups. At the TOMS River group.. we are very personal, relaxed and people get to know one another. Its allllllllll about the support, and encouragement. If a person posts **here** such as yourself.. obviously they are serious about learning and getting information. The last meeting was my first one... we had one lady that was pre OP... and she fit in very well... it was an excellent, upbeat meeting with a lot of sharing. I hope you can attend, I promise you would enjoy it. Last meeting we had 12 people... I think? It is mainly ladies, but there were 3 or 4 of us guys there.. so there was a mix. : 0) Hope to see you there... let me know if you need a ride or anything... if you live in Toms River you hafta be on my way... Sorry but it took me a long time to receive notice about this post today is Sept 12 and this was posted on Aug. 22... I can't believe it took this long.. anyway I missed the meeting on Sept 2 can you tell me when the next one is and where it is? Thank you.

Hiya,,,lost 140 lbs,,but now stalled..I'll retry again,,I acutally gained 20 lbs,,how is that possibly,,hhhmm excerice,,I did stop that,,
