Body Contouring Seminar in Montclair, NJ

My plastic surgeon, Dr. Barry Di Bernardo, will be having a free body contouring seminar in Montclair, NJ on Wednesday, September 21. It is primarily for bariatric patients or those who have lost a lot of weight from some other means. The office phone number is 973-509-2000 if you are interested in attending. I am 2 weeks post op from having surgery on my arms and an extended abdominalplasty. So far, everything is going fine and I am satisfied with the results. I had attended a similar seminar back in April and was able to see before and after pictures on a number of patients. Present also were several patients that Dr. Di Bernardo had done surgery on. This sounds awesome! I am only 7 weeks post op, but I would love to find out about future seminars. How long did you wait after your loss to get the arm surgery? I would LOVE to get that done!! Also, is there anything covered on insurance? Thanks for the info!!! Rossana

Rossana, I had my WLS surgery on 1/5/04 and have lost over 155 pounds. My PS surgery was 7/22/04. It is a good idea to start looking and this would be an excellent introduction. My insurance requested more information from my PS. That is being done now. Generally, most PS are not covered by insurance, but if you can document a medical necessity, they may do it. For tummy tucks, if you have rashes caused by the folds of skin, you should take photos and also go to your regular doctor. I am hoping that they will cover the arms, as I am a college teacher and with the excess skin pulling down, my arms and shoulders would get tired before the period was over. Jeanne
