During a post-op visit today with my surgeon (Dr. Michael Bilof), I discussed with him the lack of support groups in the Ocean County area. He and Dr. Michael Nusbaum are interested in getting things started. However, he stated that patients, people looking for answers, and post-ops need to start emailing and calling Community Medical Center in Toms River and request a support group. He told me that their office alone has had several hundred patients from the South Jersey area. More than enough to get the ball rolling. Please help. Start contacting Community Medical Center in Toms River and maybe we can start helping each other without the commute to Livingston or Princeton. Thank you!!! -Cheri
I can only "speak" for one of the groups that was mentioned. I am one of the "contacts" for this group and an original founding member.
We are newly meeting at CMC, but have been in existence for two years -- first at a location in Brick, now meeting the first Friday of each month at CMC - Auditorium A (7-9pm). We are the Ocean County WLS Group (OCWLS) and are restricted to post op patients (or seriously pre-op meaning you have a surgery date). If you need any more info, please let me know.

i have a support group meeting thurs day in hackensack but maybe by ur next meeting ill have a date and ill be all set up. thx for the info.
