9 days.... preparing...
So it is 9 days and counting and still have not done anything to prepare. I start the day with all good intention (sp). Just havent followed through. Still don't have vitimens or potein shakes. Still need broth and stuff. Still kinda scared. If I prepare than it will happen? Do I make any sense?

It's quite a lot to think about. I don't know what you have to prepare ahead of time. If you have someone who can make a run to the store for you while you're in the hospital, you'll be fine! The first week, all you need is some decaf tea or coffee, some broth or bullion, maybe some crystal light. Just work on preparing your mind. The rest is not as urgent.
You really have to be ready in your head. Ready for what you are about to give up, and ready for what you are about to get! The benefits will "outweigh" the losses! This is a very, VERY big step you are taking. The surgery does become somewhat "consuming". You will be focussed on it, 24-7. It has to be that way! It's ok, you get used to everything. I have had a wonderful experience thus far. I am about 5 weeks post-op. I have my surgery at Hackensack hospital with Dr. Trivedi. The whole thing has been great. But a word of warning... have your head in the right place, or postpone until you do. It's such a HUGE part of the healing process to be "ready". If I can help in any way, please feel free to write!
God bless, and best of luck!

Hi Donna
When I went to surgery I didn't have anything prepared. I think it was a good thing. In the beginning you are on liquids and jello. Someone can get you these things. Also protein shakes taste different to different people. I didn't start taking them until 8 weeks after my surgry. I didn't care for them. My doctor told me he didn't believe in them and if I ate the required protein I would be fine. Believe me that is what I did. My hair didn't feel like it should for about 8 months and now my hair is wonderful. They tell me it is from the protein.
Just put positive thoughts in your mind and a smile on your face and everything will be fine. Good luck and where are you having surgery? Kathy
Donna,
My surgery date is July 25. I am just as excited and as nervous as you are. You really should get your protein shakes and vitimins. I purchased mine from the center. I am having it done at The langehorne baractric center in Pa. I live in Nj. I wish you the best and my prayers are with you. Where are you getting yours done?? God bless
