Any NJ lapbanders out there?

Thoughts on doctors? I was thinking of Dr. Abkin of Bertha's office in Florham Park for lap band. Any experience you can share? What is his bedside manner, and reop /postop lapband requirements? Also, anyone use BC/BS HMO?

I am a Lap Bander...I used Dr. Karl Strom. He is in Glen Ridge and the hospital is Mountainside in Montclair. Real nice. Explains everything, anwers any questions. Has real great office assistants and nurses. They all work closely with you. I was banded on 6/1 and have lost 20 pounds. BTW I am in Clifton, you can e-mail me with any questions. Dear Laura I am going in on the 26th to have the lapband installed by Dr. Pupkova of Dr. Bertha's office. I went to the intial consult at the hotel in Bedmister and liked all of them immediately. It has taken me longer than I anticipated (I started this process in Decemeber 2004) but in the end it will all be worth it. There are a couple of girls that I work with who also have gone to Dr. Bertha's office and have nothing but good things to say about them.
