Help!!! I'm only six months out and I can't lose anymore weight????
I was wondering if anyone experienced not losing weight for up to 10 weeks at a time. I'm going to my 6mos dr's check up today and needless to say I am very disappointed that I have only dropped 10lbs since my 3 month visit. I was thinking I would be down at least another 25lbs before I stopped losing weight all together. I'm not gaining, but I am definitely not losing!!! Does anyone have any suggestions?? I have stopped lifting weights and I'm just doing 45mins of cardio to try and get things started.. and I have also thought of maybe a little starvation too, but I know that isnt healthy... HELP ?????? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Tammy

It's very hard for anyone to help you without knowing what kinds of things you're eating. I lost weight exactly according to my surgeon's statistics that he keeps for his patients: The amount the patient loses the 1st month will double by 3 months, triple by 6 months and quadruple by 1 year. So, I lost 30 the 1st month, another 30 by 3 months, another 30 by 6 months, making 90lbs total by 6 months. It's only with careful analysis of what you're eating and how often that you'll be able to figure out if food intake is playing a part in your stalling.
Some things to consider: Are u eating enough? Too much calorie rich food in the form of nuts or cheeses? What about hidden sugars in milks and yogurts? Are u eating MEALS as opposed to just grazing on a little of this and that all day long? Do you drink enough water?

i INCREASE MY PROTEIN AND IT WORKS FOR ME. i TO WILL NOT LOOSE FOR A MONTH OR SO AND THEN i WILL DROP 12-15 POUNDS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS. bUT WHEN i INCREASE PROTEIN IT SEEMS TO JUMP START IT, i AM DOWN 82 POUNDS MY SURGERY WAS 2/1 BUT I HAD LSOT 12 POUNDS PRE OP BUT I AM COUNTING IT ALL! I went thru a similar thing .. DONT STOP EATING .. that just makes it worse.. what I did was increase protien by drinking one shake in the morning and one at bedtime. and occasionally one after working out .
I was at a plateau for 8 weeks.. NUTHING lost then ... I was loosing about half a pound a day when I increased the protien.. I was 8 months out ...thought I was done with 50 more pounds to go but the pouch is a tool we have to remember how it works.. dont let those evil carbs sneak in and catch up to you.. Good Luck Dawn
