Feeling Better
Hi Everyone:
HAPPY FRIDAY TO ALL!!!
Feeling much better today now that my ulcer is being treated. I figure that after almost 21 months since surgery I have had a great run so a small problem like an ulcer is not a real big deal. My doctor says that it should clear up in about 6 weeks with medication and I can go back to the gym.
Summer has arrived early here with the heat and humidity that's usually reserved for July & August. Before surgery I would have had to stay inside because I couldn't take the heat. Now I can spend most of the time outside without suffering. In fact, I was hardly sweating. I guess losing a person does have it's benefits.
Till next time,
Jesse

Wow! That's great news. I have been following your progress with this. I am glad to hear you are on the mend. I want to ask you something though. Did the ulcer have anything to do with the surgery? I had not heard that an ulcer was a possible complication and I am just curious. In any case. I am going for my laparoscopic bypass on Monday. Just THREE days away! I can't wait. I am ready to take control of my life.
I wish you continued good luck. I am looking forward to not hating the heat! I am only a few miles from you, so I know that summer has come with a vengance! Heat, rain, more heat! Crazy, right!
Ok..God bless and feel better!

Rossana:
I have a pamplet published by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and ulcers are listed as a possible complication. Its not serious unless you let it go without having your surgeon know you are having problems. That's why maintaining your follow-up schedule with your surgeon is vital to being successful. Seeing your PCP is OK but your surgeon knows your stomach best now.
Your surgery is in three days and I know that you may be feeling a little apprehensive but just relax and think good thoughts. I'm certain that things will turn out fine for you. Just stay positive.
All the best,
Jesse
Glad you are feeling better, Jesse - I know all about ulcers. Have had one for many years - now it is in the "old" part of my stomache, but taking Prevacid will always be a part of my life. You'll feel better in no time - just learn what the warning signs are when it is acting up so you can pay proper attention to it in the future.
