Be careful, your secondary coverage may have requirements concerning the maintence of the primary, example, i work for verizon, and they require that a spouse must have coverage as primary from their employer if available. if they pay premium in excess of 750 per year or earn in excess of 25k per year. or i would have to pay the 750 to verizon for her primary coverage. another example, i also am entitled to tricare. tricare requires that all available private (civilian insurance must be utilized ) and tri care is secondary. it may not be a option to drop your cigna coverage . at any time. and if its free, then not at all.
