have a few questions

Hi- new to posting - date scheduled- june 9th- still waiting for approval and starting to get nervous- can you tell me what the preadmission tets are like? also any suggestions on what I should bring to the hospital the day of surgery- wondering if I need to buy anything special? finally this is going to sound crazy- what is the timeline for being able to swim and/or bath after surgery? I am having an open procedure- any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hi Dee I'm so glad to see you were able to log into the site! It worked They don't want you to bathe or swim until you are healed up. It can cause an infection other wise. You can however shower of course, but they don't want you "soaking" in water. My pre-admissions, I had blood work done, urine test (wanted to make sure not pregnant) and EKG. Each surgeon's requirements are different, but that's usually about all they do and refresh you on when to stop eating, bowel prep....etc... Have you considered coming to the NJ convention? It would be a great way to meet new people. Maybe you can come? I'm going to be there, I'd love to see you Amy
