I NEED ADVICE
I keep pre measured water in the fridge. She will be sleeping alot. I think part of it is the pain meds. I put a little protein powder (plain) in with the broths to get more protein. It's very important for the vitamins and the protein to get in her every day. And the liquids are easy to sip. Keeps my mouth from getting dry also. Also I found that having a small pillow for my stomach is great for when choughing. Always breath deeply. It helps greatly with pain. Mostly just let her sleep and rest for now.
I am 7 days post right now and doing better than I thought. I live alone so there is no one here to help. But it's ok, I have pillows on a large chair that I prop myself up on and the nights have gotten sooo much better. I'm surprised(pleasently).
Good luck.

Hi Arlette,
I know it sounds weird, but in the beginning all you need to worry about is that she is comfortable and getting all the liquids, proteins and vitamins in. You will be able to help her if you just keep the house "up" for her. It is a very difficult thing to have to deal with while recuperating from surgery and then have to do a backlog of laundry, etc. when you are finally up and around. You could also go out and get her some small measuring spoons, cups and storage containers as well as some of the soups she might like. God Bless you for your supportive attitude and your wife will be most appreciative!
