newbie here
Hi, I am new here too! I am about 4 months into my testing. I still have an endoscopy (2nd one), sleep study, psych eval, 2 more nutrition classes, and 1 more support group to attend. All my appointments are scheduled, and sometime near the end of March I will be done with the testing. Then, I guess it is the agonizing "weight" to see if my insurance is approved.
I have NJ Plus. There was alot of talk at the last support group that I attended about insurance companies not approving gastric bypass. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I know coming here in the coming months will help pass the time....

hi... good luck on the insurance part. i think it's ashame that you have to get all the testing done first and that there's still a chance that your insurance will turn it down. i know the testing is a requirement but it still makes you anxious. i was lucky with mine (bcbs ppo) because i got approved even before i had any testing. i just think that insurances cause alot of anxiety on top of also worrying about the surgery. wish you the best of luck and i'm sure everything will be fine. sue

Hi Marz
Best of luck to you on your upcoming journey. The insurance companies can be VERY discouraging. It took me a year and my company lawyers to overturn Cigna's 2 denials. My best advice to you is this...Don't quit before the miracle, don't ever give up and prayers work wonders
