Does anybody have Horizon BCBS of NJ

I was denied today to have my surgery done at Barix Clinics with Dr. Kaczmarski. I am so upset I felt a really positive connections with Barix and Dr. K. Does anybody have Horizon BCBS of NJ and know what doctors are in network. Or if you don't have the insurance can you help me with a really good doctor.

Hi Kim Sorry your ins. company denied you but don't give up hope !!!!!! I don't have the same ins. I do have BCBS horizon HMO and I used Dr. Romanelli and I'm very happy with him. If you would like more info just let me know. Good luck Laura

Dr. Alexander Abkin in Florham Park, NJ is the BEST!!! He operates out of Morristown Memorial Hospital who, by the way, have a separate unit for WLS. My experience with Dr.Abkin and Morristown Memorial was/is great. Good luck to you Kim! Barbara

Laura, Diane, and Barbara thank you so much for responding. I have been so upset I just found out yesterday that my insurance would not cover the Dr. that I wanted to use at Barix Clinics. I was so comfortable there and was looking forward to scheduling my surgery for the 1st week of December. I have looked up some info about each one of your dr.'s and I have a few questions I hope you don't mind answering. Laura, what hospital does Dr. Romanelli practice out of and whats the wait time from your 1st appt. to surgery? Diane is Dr. Slotman working out of Cooper or Lourdes? What was the wait time from 1st. appt. to surgery? What hospital did you have surgery at? I have heard some pretty awful things about Lourdes do you know anything about the problem? Barbara, I don't know where Florham is and have never heard of Morristown Mem. Hosp. can you tell me how far it is from me I live about 20 minutes from Trenton. Is there anthing you can tell me about the hospital? Also what was your wait time from 1st appt. to surgery? Thank you all so much for your time it is so greatly appreciated.

Hi Kimberly, I have Horizon BC/BS of NJ and was approved by my primary (Aetna) and my secondary (Horizon). Dr. Kaczmarski IS in network with Barix. Why were you denied?? One thing I found while on the phone with Horizon is they originally told me Barix and Dr. K were "out of network"; however, Barix told me they were "in network". Once the girl at Horizon double-checked, she found them as "in network" under the name of Bariatric Care Specialists of PA. If I were you, I would double-check with Horizon again.

Oh my god, Christine thank you soooo much for your response I'm so happy right now. I have been so out of it since I talked to the ins. company and Barix yesterday. I've been researching other doctors and facilities but I'm just not happy about having to try and find someone and someplace else I'm comfortable with. I had seen a few other doctors before going to Barix and meeting Dr. K and I just knew when I walked in Barix thats where I wanted to have my surgery done. I'm going to call Horizon BCBS of NJ and Barix first thing on Monday morning. Please say a prayer for me I just can't see me being satisfied anywhere else. Again thank you soooo soooo much Christine for letting me know of your dealings with both the insurance co. and Barix.

Hi Kim Dr. Romanelli does surgery out of Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. You would have to call to see what his wait is because I'm not sure. (732) 531-5445 Good Luck Laura

I was just wondering if anyone had Horizon NJ Health, formerly Horizon Mercy? What was your experience w/ them? As far as, Barix goes...how did you find out about the actual doctors performing surgery the surgery...they only gave me their stats. I live all the way down in south jersey...near Atlantic City...so it's kind of hard just to go there & check them out...lol If anyone had any info. 4 me I would really apreciate it. Thanx.
