I had Dr. Nicholas Abkin for my surgery which was on 1/12/04. He is phenomenal--no exageration. I am an employee at Morristown Memorial Hospital and I asked the nurses for the "inside scoop" on which surgeon I should pick. The nurses are the ones who KNOW who the best doctors are. My primary surgeon advised that I should pick Abkin or his partner, Dr. Bertha because of their high volume with this surgery. Medical studies have proven that you are statistically better off with a surgeon who has done the procedure the most times. Both Abkin and Bertha are excellent surgeons and they assist eachother in the OR. So you're getting TWO top qualifed surgeons. I picked Abkin for my primary because I like his personal style and my nurse friends recommended him.
