Hello all I havent posted since before i went into the hospital. Sorry about that. Well i had surgery 4/30/04. Dr. Andrei at St. Barnabas in livingston. Dr. A is great. I had some issues in the hospital. I had terrible gas pains in my stomach after surgery. IT lasted about 1 day. When the gas finally passed on, i had issues with my heart rate being to fast. So the Dr. kept me an additional day in the hospital. Went in on Friday and was released monday morning. Anyways...the day after i was released from the hospital i went to see the Dr. I was excited was down 18 pounds in 4 days...That was great. I attributed to the fact that i hadnt eaten anything since the previous Wednesday. But then i went back to the Dr. again 1week post op to get my drain removed and i was down 28lbs. I again was excited that this was really working. Anyways here i am today 2 weeks and 2 days post op. I am not sure how much i am down becasue i dont have a scale in my house...(we banned it years ago..LOL) Anyways..i have been having a terrible case of nausea every time i attempt to put something in my stomach. It is has been really bad the past 2 days. I have only had popsicles to keep me going. I cant take my vitamins becasue i just throw them back up and i have been extremly thirsty. The sips that i have to take dont quench my thrist so i have resorted to drinking 1/2 cup of cold water to quench me..only to throw it back up 30 secs later. This is terrible and i dont know why i am feeling like this now when i was fine 1 week post op Anyways... i see my doc on Friday but hopefully this all will pass and it is just a phase i am going through. But i do need to find some liquid vitamins because i have been sooo tired lately and i know it is because i havent been able to take the vitamins. Anyways...though i would post to catch everyone up. Oh yeah..on a positive not..beside being down 28lbs 1week post op...the other day i was trying on clothing that i had packed away because they were too small....well they are now lose fitting and on their way to being too big I was soo excited i wanted a tall frosty drink...but i couldnt have one..LOL so i just looked at my self in the mirror and smiled. YEAH!!!!!

You need to call the dr. and let them know you can't keep anything down. You may have a stricture.

Dear Nicole, I agree, call the doctor! The lack of nutrition is going to catch up with you REALLY FAST! Make sure he knows that you aren't keeping anything down, especially water. Dehydration occurs very fast. Keep in touch! We wanna know that you are okay. Take Care! Yvonne
