Dr. Hans Schmidt / Dr. Garth Ballantyne

Irene, you are absolutely right, dr. Schmidts office is not running efficiently, the office staff is not that great, but they do get the job done, i learned very quickly to stay on top of them, but i have to tell you my neighbor called to get on to the seminar it was 3 days away, and they told her not until the next month, so when I saw dr. T the next day i told him and he said anyone who calls up until 3:00 the day of the seminar, they should be able to get in, but that is trevedi, Schmidt is the big guy there, and i guess they probably aren't aware of the situation, but when i go back in june i will tell Trevedi again....they also just hired a new girl, i think she is a PA, she was in the room w/ him at my last exam, she was really good, and had also had the surgery 2 yrs. ago, so hopefully she is there to help get the office running more efficiently. but for anyone who cares, dr. trevedi is the surgeon for me, and i will swear by it

I did not use either Dr. Schmidt or Dr. Ballantyne because neither accepted my insurance. I used Dr. Rafael Capella in Ramsey, who also operates out of Hackensack hospital. There is a waiting period of about 4-6 months because he is booked solid. Very competent dr., has performed over 3,400 surgeries. Good luck in your journey. Barbara

Sorry I haven't responded to all of these great posts, but I was away on a three day weekend! Wow! I'm surprised at the diverse feelings regarding Dr. Schmidt. Personally, that makes me shy away from him. I am doing some further research and will ask my PCP to help me make a choice. Thanks everyone for your help - it is VERY appreciated!!

I also used Dr. Trivedi and loved him. I wanted Schmidt but his wait was too long. I find it interesting that all the people that had negative posts about Dr. Schmidt never even went to him. I had absolutely no problems with either the Dr.'s or their staff.
