New member in Central NJ, looking for advice...
Sue,
Hello! I live in Jackson, now, but originally am from Staten Island. The Rock (Staten Island, as my co-workers and I call it) is so close to you...I've got a VERY supportive Dr there who has dealt with several patients who have had WLS. I am happy to drive to SI from Jackson, NJ to see her because she is supportive, compassionate, caring and just a GOOD PERSON. She returned a call to me the other night (I had a simple question) and we ended up chatting about a few things for about 10 mins.
She loves her job and her patients and it shows. She will never speak down to you. She will never treat you like a second class citizen, as so many Drs have done to me.
I'm not sure who or where your new Dr is, but if you decide to find someone else supportive of WLS and WLS patients, let me know...she is RIGHT over the Outerbridge by maybe 5 mins.
Otherwise, just outright ask your new Dr. If s/he is not supportive, find a new Dr.
