Two years to finally get to this date. I thought it would never happen. Question? What do you take to the hospital? Do they let you wear your own night gowns? Any way I can't wait for the day to come.

Hello Congrats on your date and good luck with your surgery. I took way to much to the hospital, i packed PJ's, clothes to wear home, and lots of other things and i can honestly tell you that i did not use a thing in my bag till the day i was comming home. It is so much eaiser to use the hospital gowns they open in the right spot for the million times that someone will be comming in your room to check you out and it is less laundry for you to have to do when you get home Congrats and good luck ..

Hey fellow surgery date companion! My surgery is scheduled for the 19th also and I too have contemplated this surgery for 2 years. Good luck with everything. You and I are in this journey at the same exact time. Maybe we can update each other on our progress? Drop me an e-mail at [email protected] if you are interested. Good luck! Dawn

Thank you and good luck to you too. Are you getting nerves? The day is getting close. Tomorrow for lunch I am going to Red Lobster. My surgeon said to eat lite on Sunday so Friday is as good as ever. It would be nice to keep in touch. Again GOOD LUCK, Dianna

i too am scheduled for the 19th - what a great day to start a new life. anyway, the hospital question. a good book or puzzle book (just in case)of course a pen or pencil to go with that. a portable cdplayer with headphones and some of your favorite cd's...sleeping where there is a lot of noise is easier if you have headphones in. CHAPSTICK, CHAPSTICK, CHAPSTICK - it will be your best friend as you will have only iv fluids for at least 24 to 48 hours. i will use their robe and slippers. i'm wearing home what i wear in. seems i'll only have them on about an hour and 1/2 on the 19th going into surgery and then to come home in. i'm also taking my cell phone to use when necessary as i have all phone numbers programmed into it. that's about it - hope this helps!!! god bless yvonne
