Hi there. I am new to this website and message board. I am having RNY surgery on Monday afternoon, 4/ 5. I cannot wait to begin a healthier new life. I am 236 lbs now and am ready to make changes. Wish me luck and send up a little prayer for me for a smooth procedure, minimal pain and quick recovery. Has anyone returned to work after a 2 week recovery? Thanks! Melissa

Good luck Melissa. Don't ru**** back to work too soon. Take care of yourself. Work will be there. (I hope I can take this advice myself next month when it's my turn.) You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Sherri N.

Where are you having surgery? I had mine at Hackensack University. You will be fine, but don't rush yourself. It was about 2 weeks before I could sleep on my left side. Just be careful - follow all directions, no lifting! Make sure you have someone to help you, possibly having to wipe your tush, wash your hair, blow dry, etc. If you have any other questions, post them here! Good Luck on your new journey! Susan S.

A co-worker at my office returned in 2 weeks. I was trying, but it took me 3 weeks to go back to work. We both had it lap. Good luck! Jen

Tomorrow Tomorrow, I love you tomorrow . . . . Good luck! Its one fabulous journey. You're very close to where I started (238). Don't push going back to work. You're gonna be tired for a while. While laproscopic, its still major surgery. I was out 4 weeks, could have don't it in three, I think 2 is really pushing it. Good luck, Linda
