after 15 long months and having to switch docs, i finally had my WLS on monday!!!! i got home yesterday around 4pm, i was discharged right from the ICU. i'm in a lot of pain. i ended up having it done openly and they also removed my gallbladder. an u/s a week before surgery showed it was full of stones. i know as a pre-op they tell you 1 ounce of clear liquid every other hour and all this stuff and how don't force yourself if your full. well i have to say, i didn't really ever think that i wouldn't be able to finish a 1 oz medicine cup of jello! it happened last night during "dinner." it took my 1/2 hour to fini**** it's just so amazing, when yout the one finally going thru it. it's hard to put into words. well, i can't sit an longer...too much pain.

Welcome home Tara -- every day the pain and discomfort gets a bit better. Make sure to get your water in -- sip, sip, sip. Regards,

Welcome home Tara, I had surgery the same day as you, now I am 5 days post-op. It's a little harder than I anticipated but everyone I talked to did not regret it. Good luck and God Bless. Jan , [email protected]
