~ Had consultation w/ surgeon today ~
Well, I had a consultation with Dr. Kaczmarski at BTC in Langhorne today. It went very well, and I am extremely pleased.
The only concern I have is that Aetna requires proof of a physician-supervised diet within the last two years, and one that has lasted at least six months.
Does anyone know if you join Weigh****chers online and ask your PCP to see you every so often for weigh-ins, etc. would this be acceptable? I plan to contact Aetna and ask them, but I was just wondering if anyone here had done that?
I have put together my rather extensive diet history, including my Fen/Phen records, but that was back in '95 and '96. I am trying to obtain my old medical records from the physician who prescribed the Fen/Phen, but I am no longer a resident of that state (PA). I'm wondering if Aetna will even consider this since it was so long ago.
Any suggestions on anything else I can do as far as the insurance requirement? I've read so many posts and Q&As on here, and it seems that some with Aetna didn't really need the medical records per se, and that Aetna accepted a letter of medical necessity. Should I call Aetna and ask them about any exceptions they might accept, or is that a no-no?
I'm feeling so hopeless right now and so overly stressed about this. It is exhausting for me to even THINK about going to my PCP and starting on (yet another) six-month diet. After all, the crazy yo-yo dieting is what got me into this mess to begin with.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm feeling very down...
