Just starting out...

Helping my mom to get started in her quest for weight loss. We've found what seems to be a well respected dr in the area (Dr Brolin/Tichansky) but have some questions that our ins co can't seem to help with. We were told by the dr office that they don't accept her ins (NJPLUS & secondary ins by Aetna). So she'd have to put out the out-of-network costs. We're wondering, has anyone had Aetna approve the Lap Band procedure? Usually they pick up whatever her NJ Plus doesn't pay, but she's heard rumors that Aetna won't cover the band so she could be out a few thousand dollars in the end. Also, has anyone out there had this particular procedure in this area. Any other docs you can recommend. Another we're looking at is Dr Noel Williams at U of Penn Hospital. But he's only just now starting to do the Band where as Dr T. has done it for quite a while now. There's so much to learn. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!
