Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Does anyone have or know anyone who has Irritable Bowel Syndrome? I thought before that I may have a lactose intolerance but after seeing my PCP yesterday she had suggested it could be IBS. I need to go for an ultrasound to rule out gallbladder first but I just wanted to know if any of you are dealing with this... thanks! ~Kristin
