Hi there, I was denied by BCBS of South Carolina due to a contract exclusion. As of 01/01/04 I am now on United Healthcare through my fiancee's company, and looking to have my Roux en Y approved through them. However, I am keeping BCBS as well. Is this an illegal practice? If not, when, after my surgery, can I cancel the United Healthcare coverage? It's very expensive because we are not married. Thank you for your help.

No, it is not illegal as long as one is declared primary and the other secondary.
