My husband is a diabetic who is morbidly obese with a BMI of 58. We were fighting with our insurance company to get him covered for the WLS and upon our renewal, they cancelled us. (It was a state run plan and they said we made too much money for us to be covered as my husband now collects SSI Disability, but the children are still covered.) He was eligible for Medicare, but we turned down the Part B because the plan we were in had no copays and no premiums. Now we will have to wait until January to apply and it will not take effect until July. I am trying to find out if there are any organizations that can help us out with the doctor's bills so that he can have the surgery prior to July. Any help would be appreciated.

Vicki, My suggestion is to contact your husbands surgeon if he has one and see if they can refer you to a finance company. You can also go to google search engine and type in WLS Financing. I have read somewhere that surgery can be financed but I did not bookmark it. Hope this helps Carrie
