I attend one at Hackensack Hospital, its privately run, no hospital affiliation. Right now it meets every other Friday night 7-9PM. There's rumor that next year it might change to once a month. I like the fact that its a Friday night, and for those who want, a group always goes out for dinner after the group.

I belong to the New Beginnings support group, which is run through Virtua Health, in Voorhees, NJ. It's not open to the general public though - it's a group you sign up and pay to attend. (And worth every penny - excellent group of people). I know there's one held once a month at Kennedy Memorial in Cherry Hill, but I don't know the specific day and time. Denise

I belong to the Ocean County WLS Support Group - not affiliated with any hospital or physician. Held third Friday of each month at 525 Jack Martin Blvd in Brick, NJ on the 3rd floor at 7:30pm. The next meeting is November 21st. I am also aware of another support group starting in November sponsored by the Begin-A-New-You Group. It will be held on the third Wednesday of each month at Community Medical Center in Toms River in Auditorium B. It is not affiliated with the hospital, but CMC allows them to have their meetings there. The time is 7-9pm with the first meeting there being on November 19th. If anyone wants any additional information on either, please e-mail me. Peer Support is SO important.
