Food and Feelings: Making the connection after wls

This is a 6 week course that was developed in an effort to help women who have had wls make lifestyle changes that will support permanent weight loss/healthful living. In a safe and caring environment participants will be guied in identifying the role that excess weight and food has played in their lives, identifying binge eating triggers, learning to be present to and tolerate uncomfortable feelings, developing and utilizing positive self nurturing living skills, and learning to see oneself with kinder eyes. The group will be facilitated by Louisa Latela, MSW,LCSW and Carol Dyvig. Louisa is a psychotherapist who has more than 15 years experience working with persons struggling with food/body/weight issues. She has served as a consultant for Nutri/system and has been on staff at both Bacharach Eating Disorders Center and The Eating Disorders Treatment Center in Marlton,NJ. In 2000 she was recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as a "Top Doc for Women" under the category of eating disorders. Currently Louisa has a private practice in Haddonfield, NJ.. Carol is almost 2 years post op. She brings to the group her lifetime struggle with compusive eating and shares her journey of recovery in learning to listen with love to her body's messages, act in ways that support self love and compassion, and living in ways that honor who she truly is.
