Hi a fellow North New J erseans,a failed band now trying sleeve

Hi fellow New Jerseans I have been thinking now have decided to get the sleeve. I had the band 4 years ago and it did nothing for me except vomiting,and bloating and now abdominal pain. My doctor is Nessbaum from St Barnabas, I heard he is great. I have been slowly getting my information togather for insurance but lately due to aggressiv arthritis I am working harder at wanting this surgery. I have learned alot from these forums, How is recovery from surgery ? How long out of work? I am a nurse so it is physical job, Anyone have Dr Nessbaum? Dr Fetiah did my band but I have new insurance now

WELCOME!! I didnt have my VSG yet but I will on 12/5. My surgeon is Dr. Garrison through St. Clairs in Dover. he also has an ofifce in Montclair. Sorry to hear about the band. I almost picked the band but after doing so much research the sleeve is best for me. I picked Garrison also because he takes my Ins, I have Aetna. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Pointbeach! Best of luck with your journey!  I wish my procedure was before Christmas. All the temptations, ugh.  But I'm in countdown phase and cannot wait!  I'm anxious myself so I would say it is definitely normal to be excited and scared.  But think of the positives... A NEW YEAR...A NEW YOU!!! That's been my positive thought that eases me when I'm having negative thoughts or worries.
