post band - psych support needed

I have had my band in for over a year and have had little success.  I recently had it deflated until I could get myself better prepared psychologically.  I wasn't required to and it was never suggested that I have any kind of before surgery counseling and now I am feeling like I was very unprepared mentally for the surgery. 

If anyone knows of a good psychologist who deals specifically with eating disorders in the Union County area, I would appreciate it.

While he’s not in Union County, I would still suggest contacting Michael L. Sakowitz, Ph.D. who is a psychologist (NJ 35SI00148700) and member of ObesityHelp's Mental Health Board.

 

He’s located in Wayne NJ. No matter where you are, I highly recommended going. Here is a great article about him.

I also suggest speaking to a Nutritionist.  Many insurance companies allow you to see one X amount of times per year. Contact your insurance company

I would suggest Dr. Denise DeLuca in Pine Brook (Morris County).  She a licensed Psycholgist and one of the few Theraist in the area using DBT.  I know she is a non participating provider but if you have out of network mental health coverage insurance should pay at leat a portion of treatment.
