Morris or Union county?

Hello all!

I am pre-op lap band w/ the surgery date of 9/22/10. I live in Union County and work in Morris County. If anyone lives in the area, or is willing to travel (I'll meet halfway), I'd love to meet. Doesn't matter to me what stage of the journey you are in: pre or post. I'd just like to make a friend (or 8) who is going through WLS stuff.

I love the online support, but the person-to-person support is even better!

I am in Union county.  I am 6 months post op RNY.  I don't know if you are looking for any WLS person or specifically lap band.

There is a great support group in Union County- patient lead at the RWJ gym in Scotch plains- it has a good turn out at the meetings and there are usually both RNY and lap band people.  Here is the info

First Saturday Support of Union County is a peer to peer support group for members of the wls world.  It was established in March 2007 and we meet once a month, usually the first Saturday at RWJ Fitness/Wellness Center, 2120 Lamberts Mill Rd., Scotch Plains.  Email: firstsaturdaysupport@gmail.com 2010 Meeting Dates: 5/1, 6/5, 7/10, 8/7,9/11, 10/2, 11/6, 12/4.  The group is warm and friendly.

I look forward to meeting you! Most surgeons have their own support groups as well- mine has one for either RNY/lapband patients once a month and one for lapband patients.

Thank you for the info! I like that the support group is held on Saturdays. My work week is always so busy. I guess I will see you there!

My surgeon does have a support group and I plan on attending that as well. They seem to suggest attending after surgery...but I would like to go to one pre-op as well.

I went to a support group meeting pre op- my surgeons have a lot of new pre ops at them so it was good to hear from them about what the experience would be like- I would go to your surgeons if there is one you can make pre op.

At what time does the meeting start?

The meetings are at 10:30am- but email the leader Sheraine at this email:
