R O L L C A L L !!!
Someone said the NJ Board was BORING! Blech! Okay, I tend to agree...
So, where is everyone? Where are you in your journey?
Whats going on in your life? What are you eating today?
Will you be exercising? Do you go to support groups?
Have we met, maybe at an Inconvenient Get Together (IGT)?
Pleeeease....liven up this board! :) I'll start!
I'm Nancy, had my surgery 6/22.
I'm over 100 lbs lost, and a couple of dozen pounds away from goal.
Life is GREAT, having many 'wow' moments -- got my 'fears' too...good with the bad
Today I'll have a protein shake, a couple of coffees, some turkey meatballs and zucchini.
I'm also having POPCORN when I go to the movies tonight with my friend Gina, also a member here! I get all my fluids in, and for the most part, my vitamins (weekends I forget!)
I go to support groups all the time...I'm not a junkie, I just strongly believe in them.
I've met a lot of great people on this board, at meetings, and at the IGTs.
Okay, now I know why this board sucks....who cares about me? LOL
C'mon NJ peeps...TAWK like I know you can!!!!!

Hi I'm Alice. I'm 4 months post op from RNY. I'm doing great! I feel like I am in the most exciting part of my journey as I have lost weight on my own before but not gotten lower than 210 so now that I am at 206 and the scale is still moving this all seems real to me that this is different than just a diet and exercise program!
I do exercise, I swim 4 times a week. My meals are less planned on the weekends, I had my protein in coffee for breakfast and chicken/shrimp stir fried with veggies for lunch. I need to find a snack soon but don't know what yet and dinner is also tbd.
I do go to support groups- I go to my surgeon's when possible and really enjoy going to the patient run 1st Saturday support group of Union County.

Ok, I'll play.....
I'm Kimi...Realize Band surgery was on May 19, 2009. Can't believe a year has gone by already. I've lost 45lbs and last check 30 inches. Honestly, I'm not happy about losing that small amount of weight, yes I know I should be happy that I've lost and not gained, but it's the truth. Yes, I feel better and can do more things.
Having a very hard time lately and have had for months, seems everything "good" I eat gets stuck but all the bad stuff slides! Haven't lost a pound in about 4 months. I joined the gym and get there when I can which is not a regular schedule. I try to get to support meetings but again, my home life schedule is just nuts. I'm a single Mom of 2 very busy girls.
My day starts with a Muscle Milk shake, lunch is usually a salad, most times I'm not hungry at dinner or I'm grabbing something on the run....I do get all my water in. Vitamins, whenever I remember, most times not!
Honestly, I've been thinking I had the wrong surgery....should I have had the bypass? I don't know. I know why I didn't have the bypass, but I'm extremely frustrated right now and have been for months.
I have met alot of wonderful people due to my surgery that I am grateful for!

Everything happens for a reason..Just believe...
I agree - this board can be DEAD!! DEAD I TELL YOU!
I will play along!
I initially had the lap band in June 2008, due to reflux had it removed in March 2009, and I had RNY in April 2009.
I have lost 107 pounds (from my highest of 216 with before I was banded, almost all weight lost with RNY).
I agree with Nancy - life is great - first time in years I can wear a bathing suit in public and feel good (except for the flabby loose skin, but I will take it! I have seen worse!) I am actually looking forward to going to a water park with my daughter soon!
I have not eaten yet today, I will either do a shake or have a cheese stick in a little while. I had my coffee already.
I need to exercise more because I want to maintain this weight loss! I don't like support groups but I do like the IGT's- much more inspiring and helpful!
I think we met at the last IGT in New or North Bruswick, right?! I am sorry - my memory is shot these days!

Hello, my name is Tom. And I am an alcoholic. Oh sorry – wrong board.
I had the Realize band on January 28, 2008 and have lost between 185 and 190 pounds. Last few months a little tough, but it’s all me and I am back on track.
Not sure what I am eating today, but know it will be “acceptable".
I will exercise tomorrow – but it seems tomorrow never comes. I really hope TOMORROW does come.
I attend 3 – 4 support groups a month. I highly recommend them, not only to keep you straight – but to learn from others and make new friends.
I think we may have met once or twice at a IGT? Are you the redhead?
Good Luck on your Journey !!
Tom
