New Jersey residents.....Can you help me?????

My name is Sandra and I am having surgery (DS) with Dr. Greenbaum on 5/17. I will be flying in from Texas to the Philadelphia airport. I need some suggestions. I am doing my surgery alone and I have to admit I am a bit scared about coming to a state I have never been.

Anyway I hope to rent a car and drive to Willingboro. The thing is when I check in for surgery I don't need a car. Is there a bus in that area? Will I be able to take the rental car back and then take a bus to my surgery? Or should I just do a taxi?

Also once they release me is there a bus I can take to a hotel? I have no idea where to stay or where to go so any suggestions would be helpful. I was thinking about staying at the Candlewood Suites. Is there a WalMart or something similiar near?

I don't mean to question so much but I could use a bit of help from people who are familiar with New Jersey. Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Feel free to message me also.

First of all, you are very brave to do this by yourself and in a place you have never been..

I would suggest you call your Surgeon's office and ask about the area since they are familiar with the area. I am from the North so I have no clue about the area..

You might also call the hotel and see what is in the area and ask them about the public transportation and or the shuttle service that is available.

Welcome to NJ and good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Hi and congrats on getting the DS. I don't know about driving but I counted 6 hotels within 5 mins of the hospital on my way there. the walmart is a couple mins from there. the two I remember is the econo lodge and holiday inn. they are in nj

Dr. G's office should have info on hotels around. Good luck with everything

Thanks Kelly and Stella. I did call Dr G's office and they sent me a list of hotels. They were a bit on the pricey side. I am trying to search for something less than a 100.00 a night.

Joann thank you. I messaged you back. I will be out for awhile but will call you. I really appreciate it so much.

I don't feel brave because I am a bit nervous about doing this alone but it's wonderful people like you that make this all worth it and the big bonus is losing weight!

Thank you again!

Sandra, congrats on your upcoming surgery. Hope it all works out. Just curious why you are having DS...you are a lightweight like me. I lost about 80 lbs with RNY. Why are you using a surgeon in NJ???

A way to get a cheap hotel is to book through priceline or hotels.com. I always have success at getting really cheap rates through these two sites.
