The famous seaside vacation spot of Cape May, discovered in 1620 by Cornelius Jackson Mey, is actually below the Mason-Dixon Line. This technically makes it a Southern resort town. The name of the resort was originally spelled the same as Mey's name, but was later changed to MAY.
