Have you noticed that OH has added a share button to our posts. For those who don't get it now someone can post our topic on there face books photos and all.

I want this feature removed. How about you?

Ya know... When I first read this I said... who cares... and then ..... It hit me LOL Thats like filming AA meetings and putting them on YouTube.  Just not right.  I think I agree with you... No one should be randomly posting our stuff on there Feacebook accounts.

Any ways... Thats just my opinion :)

I was kinda pissed at first, then realized someone could just as easily save and post pictures you post along with cutting and pasting threads (or linking directly to them in Facebook) anyway, so then I got over it.  I notice so many people making their profiles private and changing screen names.  It really doesn't do anything other than saving people the trouble of cutting and pasting a link.

I deleted pictures from my profile a while ago too.

Here is the thing with the Internet...ANYTHING you post....can be found. It really doesn't matter if there is a "share" button....or anything else.

If you don't want the world to know....don't put it out there. Certainly don't use anything readily identifiable to you. I made this mistake initially.....I quickly learned my lesson. That is not to say that I have much to hide....but..... I have things I choose to share with "friends" and "family".....and things I would like feedback for from others but it it may not readily impact my life.

All that to say.....protect yourself. Just as you would in real life.....

This is one of the reasons I do not have any pictures or personal information on my profile.

Exactly - I am puzzled by the outrage over something that probably has been going on LONG BEFORE there was a button to add a thread to FB or any other site.

I think there are lots of folks who had a false sense of security before the "share" buttons were introduced and this provided them with a wake up call that this is the internet, not a private, gated community!  Anyone can come to this website, copy and paste what you say along with any pictures you may post.  Unsettling, yes.  Is removing the share button going to make this a "safe haven", no.

For all of us that post, there are probably tons of people who lurk.  I think the people who are so outraged need to put on their big girl or boy panties and deal with it.  Nothing has changed, really!  If the idea of someone sharing your information bothers you so much, then don't post it.

This isn't meant to be an attack - just pointing out what has been going on long before there was a share button added.
