Newbie Help - Little White lie to get through the Holiday.

For many folks, this will be the first major holiday that will involve “extended family/friends" since their operation. Some folks are very “protective" concerning their operation decision, and have not told many. And that’s their prerogative. However, now some of these same folks are worrying “how do I cover up not eating like I used to"?

That’s why I am turning to you. What are some helpful “stretched truths" folks can use to ward off those pesky relatives/friends who want to know “why aren’t you eating".

Here are some of mine:

I find I can’t eat as much as I used to.

Guess I’m not too hungry

I am watching what I eat

It seems my eyes are definitely bigger then my stomach

None of your *$^@W^ business :D !!

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom

Oh geez,  didn't ya see me eat a ton of the *****  (whatever appetizers there were)...  I'm saving room for dessert!

and I push stuff around on my plate.....  people pay attention to empty plates, not ones with stuff pushed around on it  (shamefaced wasteful grin)   if i acted like I ate, no one really pays attention.  Mary C

(edited to add)  this was for work related dinners...  my family all knew, and laughed when I ate 3 bites of something and was done....   Thank God for them!

I would agree with all of the above, and just say I'm watching what I eat these days.

Last Thanksgiving I weighed 270 pounds...this year I weigh 155.  I will be seeing several people over the next few weeks that have yet to see the new me, nor do they know I had surgery.  This will be a fun year for me!
