Hey I just saw my PCP to do my 6 month diet, Ok so I went to see her in May, twice in June (first and last week) then didn't see her in July, but saw her first and last week of Aug and then today. So she wants to try to see if they will take that as 5 of my 6 months, she said it is worht a try, worst case is they tell me that I have to do a few more months. I'm fine with that but what worries me is that my weight YoYo's so bad during the months I have already. I start at 218, then go to 211, then 205, then 211, then 222, then back to 218. I go from a BMI for 40 to a BMI of 38 and back up again. I'm worried that Cigna will tell me my weights aren't high enough... What do you all think? Im going to call dr garrison's office and ask them what they think.

I don't profess to be an expert, but what I think the insurance company goes by is the BMI when you are weighed in at your BARIATRIC Doctor for the first time.

Don’t worry too much about your BMI, especially if you’re between 38 and 40. Remember, m
ost insurance companies will cover if your BMI is 40 or more without any co-morbidity issues.

If your BMI is between 35 and 39, then they will cover you is you have at least one co-morbidity (ex. Diabetes, High blood pressure, High cholesterol, sleep apnea [which you may have is undiagnosed – so going for a sleep analysts may be warranted/suggested]. There is a ton more co-morbidities you may have (and not know it  or has been diagnosed), so ask either your Bariatric or Primary Doctor.

Remember, you may still have co-morbidity, and not know it (CAPISE?!?!?).

Didn't your Doctor say your blood pressure has been high the last few times you've gone to the Doctors ?!?!?? I bet weight loss would reduce that.

Are you still having performance problems. -  terrible what weight will do to you

It’s a shame how terrible your joints are? no, not the rolling paper - but your knees, elbows.

How's your depression coming along? - bet losing weight would reduce that too.

It’s amazing how many of these co-morbidities you have … Just ask your Doctor (CAPISE!?!?!?!?)

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight”  The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet

LOL you crack me up, I don't know of any comorbidities that I do have, but yeah my LDL is a bit high. I have very low blood pressure, almost too low so I've been told. I do have bad back and knee pain, but sadly I broke my back years ago and had it fused and then blew out my knee so I am sure the the weight causes some pain, but they are kind of pre-existing...
But I am sure that my dr would work with me on the issues and I might as her next month to kind of put in her letter that i've had back issues, knee issues migraines, and anything else I can come up with :)

Thanks Tom!!!! I'm so excited, holy cow, I could have it done next month if all goes well with Cinga :):):)
