I got the call today.  My surgery is approved by my insurance company!! My surgery date is August 7.  I cannot wait.  These next three weeks are going to be such a long three weeks but once it comes my life will never be the same :) What did you guys do when you found out your surgery got approved? I sat here and cried like a baby.  I was so nervous that I wouldn't get approved, but the emotion the flooded through me the second I got the call just made me cry tears of joy.  I know that may sound ridiculous but I am so happy!! I'll update you all once again when I get home from my surgery.  What kind of stuff did you guys pack for the day of your surgery? Mine is going to be done same day so I think I will wear comfortable clothes for that day.  I am nervous about the anesthesia.  Should I bring anything else specifically with me that day? Ahh i cant wait! I have to start planning :)

Congratultions!  I am behind you on this journey.  I have one more PCP diet supervised appt left then they can submit to insurance.  I know I will probably cry like a baby too when I get a date.

Just bring chapstick and a pillow and you should be fine.  Congrats on getting approved!!  This will change your life for the better!

Out of curiosity, why the pillow, didn't the hospital have them?

it helps when you move or the ride home to hold on your tummy. when my mom had a surgery she was so thankful for the pillow. will definately have mine

Congratulations on the approval and I understand how you feel.I imagine that I will have the same reaction if/when I am approved. My surgery is schedueled for Sept 8, 2009.   Going through final preliminaries now.  Not sure if I will be kept over night or if mine will be same day.  My surgery of choice is RNY.

Here is wishing you the best of luck
and a quick recovery.

Hugs from Baltimore
