A lot of pain almost 9 months after surgery
Oi…
Hello, I have a question. Not for me but for my girlfriend.
My girlfriend had GBS in Brazil (her homeland). She lives in the US/NJ and has NO doctor up this way. She will not see her Surgeon until October 09.
SOOO my question is… She had the operation in June 08 (lost ~100lbs). Around three months ago she started to get pain where the doctor opened her up (hers was NOT laparoscopic – one 6" cut on the front of her tummy). Here scar is not hard, seems normal, and a little pain to the touch. AND just recently she has been throwing up (a little – she’s not pregnant).
Does anyone have any guess what might be causing the pain? I understand we are NOT doctors but has this happen to anyone else.
I’m trying to talk her into seeing a Doctor up this way (she has no insurance tho)
I’m just worried about her (my sister passed away from GBS; but her complications came on within 3 months)
Thanks,
-phil
By now I sure hope you have taken this woman to an emergency room. Many hospitals have care for those that are uninsured. Some hospitals have clinics days where uninsureds see doctors on staff at the facility. They serve the clinic on a rotational basis. After being seen in clinic, the doctor must then take the patient into their office as a patient. Depending where you are, try the largest medical center in your area. Wonder if it is a hernia.
Good luck,
Andrea
