I just made an appointment for a cousultation for either a RNY revision or conversion to DS with Dr. Greenbaum. I just wanted to get some insight on his office, staff and over all reputation from those who have had surgery by him.
thanks

Hi Ryann,
I met Dr. Greenbaum a few years ago, and wasn't very impressed. A friend of mine had her surgery with him and absolutely adores him..so to each his own.

I also met with the Dr at Virtua...then I met with Dr. Neff and I have to say,  I wouldn't recommend anyone else.  I have seen him at every follow up, not a PA...he's never made me feel rushed. He's the most meticulous surgeon I have ever met, and the most humble.  When ever I thank him and tell him how great he is...he responds that I'm the one doing it, he just gave me a bit of help. A BIT?? Please....

He's the nicest, most careful surgeon I have met, with a heart of gold.  He honestly enjoys helping us. More, when I was getting my pretesting and was in the hospital, every. single. nurse said how luck I am to have Dr. Neff.  Every one said if they were to have any surgeon -- he is the one they would want.   That says a ton.

I'd suggest seeing more than one surgeon to make sure that you get the one that you feel most comfortable. Good luck...

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.

I chose Dr. G because he's considered a specialist and is 1 of the few doctor's skilled enough to do a revision. From my research I found out that he graduated from John Hopkins Medical School which is one of the hardest medical schools to get accepted into and one of the best schools in the world. He's been practicing for 30 plus years before wls became popular. When I first met Dr G although I knew I wanted a ds he had me in his office for 4hours explaining every single wls to me. He is very informative, knowledgable and consise with his information. If you want to speak to him from home on the phone  or email he has no problem speaking to you for however long you would like . His surgeon fee is $250 cheaper than alot of places which is very important in these times. While in Lourdes I can name over 6 people whom have cared for me and I would consider them a hand-picked employee. I loved the private rooms in icu and in the bariatric ward. While your in the hospital when you press the button they will come I'm talking a wait time of 2 minutes or less. During my stay my blood pressure bacame low and it was hard for my jp tube to come out. Dr G. ordered another xray and nasty drink swallow. But what stood out to me was that he stayed with me the whole time right there beside me while I took my test and I've never received personal attention from any doctor like that. If you had to take a test for a doctor they would order it and send you on your way. I loved the hospital and I love Dr. G I was more than satisfied and I'm so glad that i chose him.

Dr Greenbaum Rocks.....I had a revision from a RNY to the DS almost 2 yrs ago. He is a wonderful surgeon, great bedside manners, and great staff. Tina his insurance gal is the best she'll get your surgery approved once you jump throught all the insurance hoops. Dr G is a caring surgeon who will take the time to answer all your questions & get back to you quickly if you ever need to page him. He has been doing quite a bit of revisions to the DS lately. Go over to the DS Forum and do some research and ask some questions. At least for me the DS was the way to go I didnt want a revision to the RNY I hated the dumping.
Good luck
