NJ Direct hassles -6 months medically supervised nightmare
Hi Janice. I noticed your location is Trenton. Please contact Dr. Noyan at Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton... He is the head of the Baritric Center. They have a comprehensive, 6-month, dr. evaluated program that will get you through insurance snags.
The office is the best... I have had my first appointment and am eager for these next 6 months to fly by!
Good luck!

Janice, I too have NJ Direct. Fortunately, I was able to use the nutritionist provided by Dr. Nausbaums office. My PCP is excellent but this just wasn't something he was use to doing. Using the Nut was great because everything was right there in the same place and you got to know them as well and vise versa. His office is extremely helpful after my six mos. she wrote up her report and of course working with Nausbaum she knew exactly what to say. They told me what to have my PCP write out and I was approved in just one week. Good luck to you. Nausbaum is located in Livingston at St. Barnabas ambulatory center. (I sure I'm spelling is name wrong).
I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks for your help. Well my problem seems to be resolving. The bariatric coordinator, Tina, returned and she is wonderful. She is making arrangements for me to meet with one of the nutritionists. Tina is coordinating it for me. I'm so releived.
I went to the SJB support group meeting tonight. It was very informative. I've done a lot of research on the RNY and the more I learn the more comfortable I feel with my choice. I'm starting to feel very hopeful now.

I had surgery with the same group as you all I did for the 6month diet was call in my pcp and they wrote down what I told them to write and the weight I told them to write...My doc didn't have a scale theat went above 250 so I had to weigh myself at home... the first month I told them I was trying medifast which I was...drinking extrawater and walking...then gave them my weight...The months so on I stopped medifast and I told them how I continued my plans changed eating habits and the extra stuff regarding weightloss they wrote it down....I was approved first submital....All you need is to have your doctor write what you've been doing and write down your weight..as long as your weight and activities is tracked for the next 6months it shouldn't matter...also I have njdirect....
