I GOT MY SURGERY DATE!!!!!!

OMG FREAKIN GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I called my surgeon's office to speak with the insurance guru to tell her more paperwork has been faxed and to see if Kingley had sent her my Nut Eval, that's another long story.....she put me on hold twice and I assume called Kingley to see what the hold up was. Well she got it needless to say!!!  Then she says we can pick a surgery date!!!  I said WHAT??? She has everything I need to chose my date....so my surgery will be on May 19, 2009.  Dr. Abkin will be preforming the surgery in the new Florham Park Surgery Center. 

I even asked the Insurance Specialist if she had the right person and she read off my Date of Birth...so it was me!!!

So I ran down to my Mom's office, she works in the same building as me...crying to tell her what just happened, then I called my Mentor/Boyfriend and told him all about it. We were expecting this until August. 

I am still shocked, excited, scared, nervous but all in all I can see the light at the end of the tunnel has come closer!!  I am sooo thankful for this website and all the wonderful inspiring people I have met here!!!

So only 6 more weeks to go and I'll be a true member of the group!!!

Congrats!  I would love that to happen to me.  I have all the Nut Eval, Psych Eval, blood work, online training, PCP letter of necessity, but I have this 6mo documentation from the PCP showing I am on a supervised diet/exercise program to go, so I assumed it wouldn't be processed until I get that 6 month doc completed.  I called my Dr office to follow up, but they are just too busy to tell me my paperwork progress.  Sounds like your center is more up on getting the info in.  I choose Garrison Center in Dover because my Cigna insurance recommended them as a preferred surgery center/Surgeon.  Good Luck with everything. 

HI!!!!!  We have ALOT in common!!!  I have Cigna as well and originally was going to go to Dr. Garrison because he was IN NETWORK.....but.....I found out about Dr. Abkin & Dr. Bertha,  just an FYI Dr. Garrison used to be in their group.

I went to Dr's A&B's new patient seminar and knew they were the doc's for me!!! Esp Dr. Abkin!!!  They have the best Insurance Specialist there..her name is Jessica!!!  I also have OUT OF NETWORK benefits with Cigna andddd since I will use them for my surgery I will only have to pay my yearly deduction. Dr. Abkin's office will take whatever Cigna gives them and not bill me at all!!! They are an amazing group!!!

Congratulations!I'm so happy for you! That's awesome! Their office is really on the ball. Their insurance specialist is amazing! You can ask her anything and she is always willing to help.

A little over a month away! I'm so excited for you! Dr. Abkin is great. Don't be afraid to ask him, or any of any questions and such that you may have!

Good for you!!!!! I know how happy you must be.I will be 3 days after you!! My neighbor was banded yesturday and came home today. she says it feels like she did six thousand sit ups!! But no gas problems yet. She said when she woke up in recovery room, she thought someone was sitting on her tummy...I know I shouldn't laugh, but I thought that was funny.I'll get paid back when I tell them to get the elephant off me when it's my turn..lol SOOOOOOOO we  will be sharing alot, i'm sure..
