Doing well here.  Yes, I try to get to Dr. Garrison's support groups.   However, I was not at the last two meetings.  I plan on being there for the next one which is the 14th of April.

I am just starting out with Dr Garrison, I am waiting for approval, looks like I have to wait for the 6 month PCP documentation first.  I don't get much assistance when I call to find out if the Psych Eval, Nut Eval, Blood work, and PCP letter of necessity has been recieved.  The office is always so busy. 

Hello onstage4me, I went thru the exact things whern Dr G was at the old place - but now that he has moved his location I am very pleased with the amount of attention thart I have been seeking in fact - I just got a call yesterday from him personally telling me that I have been approved- I didn't even know that they had submitted my paperwork - ok so last year I statred getting my ducks in a row for revison - got to the 3 month diet requirement with dietician - dietician plays hide the records and then wanted to charge me an additional 100.00 to write a clearance letter- after fighting with her and contacting the insurance they told me she could not charge me that amount   -after that I chased the insurance guru at the old office - come to find out she cant find my paper work and tells  me new rule need 6 months - dr leaves the practice and I went to see him with my husband ( husband is wanting to get lap band with my dr) and he tells me we need to get all of the paperwork and to start 3  months again - so technically i am in month 2 - went to see both dr and dietician for 2 consecutive months and was actually getting excited about next month - he calls me to tell me that he submitted my paperwork and that I am approved - wants to see me on Friday and has a date of May 13 OMG OMG OMG - I am in shock

HI Strawberry2!  Congrats on your approval and date.  I just found out yesterday that they submitted my paperwork to the insurance company because the insurance company sent me a letter of denial.  It seems they did not submit the letter of necessity from the surgeon, ok that is Dr Garrison and they submitted the paperwork.  The other missing important piece is my 6 month PCP supervised diet and exercise, well hello that was not completed becauses I am only in my 3 visit now.  I know this seems to be the norm running into insurance snags, but you'd hope the insurance guru would know when and what was missing first.  Now, it appears I will have to go for an appeal when I do get the other documentation.  This is all overwhelming, as I am a candidate from every aspect of this surgery and what my insurance company requested.    I do however, love Cathy Garrison, she is compassionate and although very busy, recognizes the importance this surgery is to me.  Lisa is new and she is also very friendly and helpful.  I just hope there are no other snags.
