I almost missed your post because I am not usually on this board. I am mostly on the Lap-Band board. If you go to Forums and then to surgical,a box will come up to the side and then hit Lap-Band, our message boards are there.I thought maybe your mom would like it cause we are all Banders. some waiting like me and alot who have had it done.Maybe I'll see you tonite...

Hi Sandytoes & Plusizedbarbie....

Where is the SOCH meeting?  I'm going to have the Realize Band done by Dr. Alexander Abkin at St. Clare's Hospital NJ. I don't have a date as my insurance is wanting the world.

Sandytoes, I've read your posts and you're such an inspiration to someone who has to wait for her surgery...you certainly do have it all together and I'm following your lead!!

Plusizedbarbie...you are gorgeous!!! I've looked thru your profile and cried right along with you! Your wedding pics are beautiful and I'm guessing you've gotten in a size smaller than an 18...lol

I'm usually on the NJ forum, but go on the other forums for different information.

Thank you both for lifting my spirits and keeping me going!!!

Hi Kimi, I'm sorry I missed your post last night. The meetings are at Southern Ocean County Hospital {SOCH]. SOCH just opened this practice last fall,The Center for Bariatrics At SOCH. There was such a need for us in South Jersey, there was no one in this area and Dr Reich and Dr. Strom brought their North Jersey practice down here and boy are we glad they did!! I live on Long Beach Island and the hospital is in Manahawkin, which is right over the mainland from me. So I don't have far togo for meetings and fills and such about 10 minutes away.
The practice is great from Tina in the office,to Kim who handles your insurance, and then there's Ginger who is our Nutritionist or affectionatly known as our Nut...lol. They are so helpful with making appointments to see the other docs for your pre-testing to helping with any questions.
The 6month wait has not been easy, cause we always want a quick fix..that's just human nature. I want it now!!Damn it!! But I have to say that learning the different stages that you have to go through, the eating choices for each stage and the different ideas on how to make those stages less boring are only gonna help when the time comes for me to do it. I just want to be able to know what to expect, becuase I think we all handle things better when we know up front . I've gotten great ideas for that clear liquid only stage, from reading these boards and going to meetings and talking to our Nut.  I hope you have a good support team in place for yourself...And read, read everything you can because it gives you good questions to ask and clears up confusion. I know waiting is hard, but you really couldn't learn everything to be sucssefull in a month. Good Luck on your journey and I'll be looking for your posts.

Thanks Susan....
I do have an awesome support team, personally and professionally!!! I agree that without that help we wouldn't be as successful in this process.
These forums have been wonderful for me as well as my Mentor!  I am constantly scouring OH for information.
What great ideas have you read about for clear liquids???
You're the best Susan!!!!
